WBEJ welcomes new Cyclone Football broadcaster....Tony Briggs

After many years, Dale Fair is retiring from broadcasting Cylone football games for WBEJ.   Thank you Dale for your dedication & we wish you well!

WBEJ's John Holsclaw found a new sidekick for the Cyclone football broadcasts.....Tony Briggs, a Founder & President of the Elizabethton Cyclone Touchdown Club. The big announcement came August 10, 2017 on WBEJ Talkin' Sports with David Miller & John Holsclaw (pictured below).

In talking with Tony Briggs, he said he agreed to do the broadcasts on one condition...that he could still prepare the equipment for the Elizabethton Cyclone football team. He's been in charge of the football equipment for about 10 years now & it's something he loves doing to help out the coaches & the team. Briggs' daytime job is nothing short of being an organizational whiz - he serves as an Architect Engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation.

WBEJ is excited to have Tony Briggs as a new broadcaster to WBEJ Sports. And...we can't go without expressing appreciation for John Holsclaw, our lead sports broadcaster for 38 years! Now that's a lot of ballgames!
